How to Find LinkedIn Top Voices: A Step-by-Step Guide

Identifying LinkedIn Top Voices can greatly enhance your brand's visibility and engagement on the platform. Whether you're finding LinkedIn Creators for a campaign or simply researching the thought leaders shaping your niche, knowing how to locate these influential voices is the first step. Here's a step-by-step approach to finding and leveraging them.

What is a LinkedIn Top Voice?

LinkedIn’s Top Voices program is a recognition awarded to thought leaders who consistently create valuable and engaging content on the platform. Achieving this status requires a combination of authenticity, expertise, and consistent effort. It's an invitation-only badge (you can't apply for it), and LinkedIn's editorial team selects recipients based on a combination of factors.

How LinkedIn Selects Top Voices

LinkedIn's editorial team evaluates creators on the quality and originality of their contributions, the consistency with which they publish, the depth of expertise they demonstrate in their field, and the level of meaningful engagement their content generates, meaning thoughtful comments and genuine discussion rather than vanity metrics.

Authenticity is central: LinkedIn looks for people sharing first-hand knowledge and a clear point of view, not recycled or generic content. The badge is also reviewed on an ongoing basis, so it reflects current activity rather than a permanent title.

Top Voice vs. Community Top Voice

It's worth understanding the difference between the two badges you'll encounter:

  • LinkedIn Top Voice (the "blue" badge) is the broader recognition for established thought leaders across industries. It's selected directly by LinkedIn's editorial team and isn't tied to any single topic.

  • Community Top Voice (the "gold" badge) was awarded to contributors who added high-quality insights to LinkedIn's collaborative articles, with the badge tied to that specific topic. However, LinkedIn has retired key parts of collaborative articles: new articles are no longer created and existing ones are now read-only, so contributors can no longer add or edit insights, though existing articles can still be read.

Why it matters for brands?

A Top Voice badge is a trust signal. It tells you a creator has been independently vetted for credibility and consistency, which lowers the risk of an influencer partnership and often correlates with a higher-quality, more engaged audience. For brands running LinkedIn influencer campaigns, prioritizing Top Voices typically delivers more authentic reach and a better return than chasing raw follower counts.

According to Favikon, there are around 7,000 LinkedIn Top Voice influencers worldwide. These influencers represent a select group of thought leaders recognized for their contributions to meaningful industry conversations on LinkedIn. They span various sectors, including technology, business, health, and personal development, providing valuable insights and shaping important discussions in their respective industries.

Method 1: Finding LinkedIn Top Voices Using LinkedIn Search

Step 1: Log into Your LinkedIn Account

To start your search, you need to be logged into your LinkedIn account. If you don’t have an account, create one.

  1. Open LinkedIn in your web browser.
  2. Enter your email and password, then click "Sign In."

Step 2: Use the Search Bar

The search bar on LinkedIn is a versatile tool to find people, companies, content, and more.

  1. Locate the search bar at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
  2. Type “LinkedIn Top Voices” into the search bar and press Enter.

Step 3: Filter Your Search Results

To refine your search results, you can use LinkedIn’s filtering options.

  1. On the search results page, you will see various filter options such as People, Posts, Companies, etc.
  2. Click on “Posts” to view content related to LinkedIn Top Voices. This will include announcements, articles, and posts that mention Top Voices.

However this method gives you limited flexibility in search. Moreover, as you may see, all results may not have LinkedIn Top Voice. Adding to the pain, LinkedIn search is not great when it comes to finding industry specific or sorting a list of creators in any manner. This is why we use Favikon in our second method to make our search more effective and time-saving.

Method 2: Using the Favikon App

Step 1: Sign in to the Favikon App

Go to the Favikon sign-in page and log in. If you don't have an account, create one first. A free account is enough to run a basic Top Voice search.

Step 2: Open Advanced Discovery and Run a Search

1. In the left-hand navigation menu, click Creator Search to open the creator search page (this is Favikon's Advanced Discovery view).

2. At the top of the page, you'll see a single search field. Type the niche, industry, or keyword that describes the creator you're looking for, for example "SaaS marketing" or "fintech." If you want to browse all Top Voices regardless of niche, leave this field blank.

Step 3: Apply the LinkedIn Top Voice Filter

1. Click the Filters button to open the filter panel on the right side of the screen.

2. Scroll down the filter panel and find Top Voice in that section and toggle it on. This restricts results to creators who currently hold the badge.

3. Click Apply Filters to update the results list with your filter applied.

Step 4: Refine and Sort Your Shortlist

Your results now show only LinkedIn creators with the Top Voice badge. From here, you can narrow the list further using the additional filters available, such as follower range, country and language, and engagement rate, then sort by metrics such as engagement rate so the strongest matches surface first.

With these filters and sorting options, you can move from thousands of creators to a focused shortlist in just a few clicks.

What to Do After You Find a Top Voice

Once you've found a Top Voice, you can also analyze LinkedIn profiles with Favikon. This shows you their audience, engagement trends, and content themes so you can confirm the creator reaches the people you want to influence.

Finding a Top Voice is the starting point, not the finish line. Before you reach out, vet each creator so your shortlist actually holds up. The most useful first move is to check their Favikon Authority and Authenticity Score.

Open the creator's profile in Favikon and look at the Authenticity Score. It combines follower growth, engagement quality, and content analysis into a single ranking, so you can compare candidates objectively instead of guessing from follower counts.

A Top Voice badge tells you LinkedIn vetted them; the Authenticity Score tells you how they stack up against everyone else in their niche right now.

Once a candidate clears both checks, add them to your outreach shortlist and move on to the next.

That sequence of badge, Authority Score, Authenticity Score, and audience fit keeps your LinkedIn influencer campaigns focused on creators who can genuinely drive engagement and ROI, not just creators with big numbers.

Finding LinkedIn Top Voices isn’t just about high follower counts. It’s about identifying individuals who can authentically connect with audiences, drive engagement, and inspire discussions in their field. By using tools like Favikon, leveraging LinkedIn’s features, and conducting thorough engagement assessments, brands can effectively partner with influential voices that align with their marketing goals. This strategic approach ensures a more authentic connection and a higher ROI for LinkedIn influencer campaigns.
